It also helps create new connections with your fellow REALTORS\u00ae and gain new knowledge that will make you a better real estate professional. Committee involvement is a vital way to support your Association, contribute to our profession, and build lasting leadership connections within the industry.\n<br><br>\n<b>Finance Committee*<\/b><br>\nIdentifies the financial and budgetary needs of SCCAR. Develop the annual operating budget and expenditures incorporating the goals set from the Strategic Plan or at a director meeting. Review SCCAR financial position and accounts periodically. Reviews and recommendations of investment policies to the Board of Directors. Provides financial statements to the board of directors with recommendations for adjustments required. Meets every other month. REALTOR\u00ae only.\n<br><br>\n<b>Cultural Diversity &#038; Fair Housing <\/b><br>\nCommitted to embracing diversity, equity and inclusion while fostering an environment where all SCCAR members feel welcome, supported, and valued regardless of their background. Through education and awareness, we aim to drive positive change and create a more inclusive Association that reflects and supports the diverse communities we serve. \n<br><br>\n<b>Education Committee<\/b><br>\nThe Education Committee researches, plans and presents an annual agenda of industry-related education to meet the present and future needs of all members in alignment with the Association&#8217;s Strategic Plan. Meets monthly.\n<br><br>\n<b>Events Committee<\/b><br>\nPlans, promotes, and executes a diverse range of projects and events to encourage SCCAR member engagement and community outreach. Organizes and manages the SCCAR annual golf tournament fundraiser, generating funds that support donations to local community organizations. Meets monthly.\n<br><br>\n<b>Grievance Committee*<\/b><br>\nReviews complaints from members or the public to determine whether they warrant a formal hearing, to review the charges of unethical conduct against SCCAR members, and to present alleged complaints to the Professional Standards Committee Panels for adjudication and possible disciplinary action. The function of the Grievance Committee is to make only such preliminary reviews and evaluation of the complaint as required in determining whether the complaint warrants further consideration. It is a three (3) term and requires training) REALTOR\u00ae Only.\n<br><br>\n<b>Local Government Relations (LGR)<\/b><br>\nFocuses on real estate related issues and concerns that pertain to SCCAR market areas. Coordinates communication between SCCAR membership and Federal, State, and local legislators, governmental agencies, and regulator entities. Promote exchange of information and SCCAR membership involvement, at all levels of government on issue affecting the membership and ownership of private real property. Develop programs to keep SCCAR members informed and updated on National, State, and local rules, bills (pending and enacted), and legislation. Makes recommendations to support or oppose ballot measures and other issue related campaigns. Meets monthly via zoom.\n<br><br>\n\n<b>MLS Committee<\/b><br>\nThe purpose of the MLS Committee is to function as a liaison between SCCAR membership and MLS Listings, Inc. The MLS Committee brings REALTOR concerns and recommendations regarding products, services, rules and regulations to the MLS Listing Inc., Board of Directors. The MLS Committee can make recommendations on geographics areas and defines\/adjust existing boundaries. Meets quarterly<br> \n<br>\n<b>Modern Real Estate PROS (MREP) Committee<\/b><br>\nMREP\u2019s goal is to provide emerging real estate professionals with a platform to network, build meaningful relationships, foster cross-collaboration, engage in diverse events, support leadership development, and increase awareness of SCCAR benefits and activities. Meets every other month. \n\n\n<br><br>\n\n<b><a href=\" https:\/\/mysccar.org\/wpress\/professional-standards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professional Standards Committee*<\/a><\/b><br>\nTo enforce the NAR Code of Ethics through a hearing and entry of an award by the Professional Standards panel but does not include conversion into a collection of a civil court judgement. Provides procedures for enforcement of the NAR Code of Ethic. Provides arbitration hearing pursuant to the NAR Code of ethics Article 17 disputes between REALTORS\u00ae and REALTOR\u00ae and their clients. Provides an Ethics Advocate. It is a three (3) year term and training required. REALTORS\u00ae ONLY.\n<br><br>\n<b>\nProperty Management Forum &#8211; NEW<\/b><br>\nEncourages SCCAR Property Management members to join the forum where information and training will be via a committee meeting, a live presentation or DRE updates pertaining to Property Management and Trust accounts. Meets quarterly.\n<br><br>\n<b>Small Broker Forum &#8211; NEW<\/b><br>\nSmall Broker forum is here to assist the small SCCAR brokerages with information they can use for their agents, training, legal updates, and discussion. The Forum will meet every other month.\n<br><br>\n<b>SCCAR Housing Foundation<\/b><br>\nA non-profit organization providing funds to help low income first time home buyers through grants and fundraising events. Term is 3 years.
